Hey guys,
My car has developed a misfire at constant throttle. When I'm cruising along at between 50 and 70 without any acceleration or decelaration I'm starting to get hesitation.
Tacho needle drops about 100 rpm when it happens. It's kind of spluttering. It has started happening since the onset of the colder weather. I doubt it's running lean.

Any ideas?

bad lot of fuel? maybe check out your fuel filter as well. i've had that happen before a few times in different cars.

Hi Redfive,

I agree with JAM on this one.

It happened to my car last year. I inially thought it was a fuel mixutre issue but after replacing my plugs and points and resetting the timing the problem disappeared (forever). :)

Have you made any changes to your mixutre or timing lately :?:

A quick way to check if it is lean or not is pull the choke out slightly and see if it cures the problem. Actually on a Mini the choke is not a cke but an enrichment device. It just lowers the jet in its body.

correction again - it's not an enrichment device, it's cruise control on the highway! 8)
