I know bugger all about the cars but there is a chance i can score a morris 1100 (non mini) what are chances I can grab parts for my mini off it?

Just wonderin if they used the same motors etc.

If not might still get it as apparently just needs a new front seat.

Cheers

Motor and gearbox can be used in a Mini (you would want to change the diff ratio from 4.26 or whatever).
Not much else..

Brakes could, but need modifications.

hydro bags are great big woopers of things... way to big for mini.. i checked b4 i dumped the remains of my 1100...
handles were good, some switches still looking at using the discalipers with s disc under 10's.. i grabbed the tin brake and clutch cans.. headlights, water overflow tank
think thats about it

you can actually use the radiator as well if you like,,,it`s way bigger (taller & wider) & will """Just"''' fit in a round nose,,,some bodys will need a slight mod depending on if it`s been in an accident allready, but on top of that only the bonnet safety catch needs a slight bend to the side & Bob`s your Aunty

if you wanted a big rad for extra cooling then this rad is really RAD :-)

The CVs are the same dimentions as "S" ones & therefor will fit & do the same job,

The rest of the brakes & swivel hubs are no good at all,,,i`ve known some people to mod them to fit but i personally wouldn`t bother,,,too much agro & not a pretty mod

The hydro bags are not the same & won`t fit at all,,,the internall door handles & various other tit bits are usable tho

the gearbox is usable but not really recomended as DrMini says, the diff ratio & diff housing are no good,,,& i`m not a big fan of that early 3 speed syncro "A" type box anyways,,,the later 1100"S" "B" type box is still a 3 speed but is a better set of gears & a far better case & can be used for the close ratio S/C C/R gear kit,,,but that`s only the 1100"S" type case,,,not the std 1100 case YUK!!!

:-)

headlights,,,& radiator expansion tank & master cyls & & & lots of other little goodies can be used also
