Hi Graham,

I share willies 'frustration' at knowing rare data has been collected and not being able to see it, especially when you have contributed to it. In my case it's the Cooper S register. Why can't you exclude the personal data and just publish the basic car information - model, year, colour, body/engine numbers, etc.

Did you see this thread? It's along a similar theme.

Cheers

Winabbey, my 997/998 register is the sort of Ausmini one, I try to help out when people have a querie on these cars, there were other registers, some have fallen by the wayside.

The problem is, the car numbers and chassis numbers are exactly the information that people don't want to reveal.

We're all honest individuals here on Ausmini

But beleive me, my experience from other countries is that there are some villains about.

Imagine getting to the end of a 5 or 6 year restoration, then finding you cannot register the car because someone else already has. Then the RTA / Police give you the third degree because they think you are the ringer!

The Mini Cooper Register in the UK (of which I was once a committee member) operate their registers in the same way that I do.

I know it is frustrating, but I will try to share what I can. I think Sports 850 was on the right lines...

Can't you just xx out the last two digits of each?
