Put my ausmini.com stickers on then took them off as the lettering was stuck on the wrong side i think. the sticky lettering was stuck to the contact. I tried to peel it off and it broke :/

Hi Steve,

Since the overhaul is the needle nice and steady?

Mine wobbles a little (+/- 2 mph) up to say 50 then starts to get worse. Also reads about 5mph fast.

I'm wondering if it's worth getting looked at.

it seems fine and steady yes - I took it back in there this arvo and he checked then and there why the miles weren't ticking over and showed me the tiny cog wheel was missing one tooth! - ten mins later he had replaced it and I reinstalled the speedo in his carpark and drove away a happy customer

$110 inc GST for the speedo overhaul

Good work!
I have been playing with speedos lately just to see what goes wrong and how you can get them right. They are fairly simple but you need a stock of spares, so $110 is just too easy! :D

The wavering needle can be caused by a cable or it can be dried up grease binding a shaft in the speedo. A service should fix it easily.

Fitted the timber dash, then the steering column and wheel. Looks like the steering rack may be out 1 tooth :( May have to dismantle and change so the blinkers will cancel correctly. More work

Hope it's not the one I did..
Standard pinion position (the later ones with the slot, not the groove) is with the slot at bottom when rack is centred.
There are only 5 teeth on the pinion, so 1 tooth is a long way, =72°

Nah! Its the one I did with your bearings and pinion.
I think its good? The slot is at the bottom and I think I have aligned the blinker cutoff at 90deg or horizonal, which is incorrect as blinkers are a little higher than horizontal.
So yes I can't move the pinion as it would then be way out.

Took it for a run, few issues...
The major one is my brakes work great!! But it takes a second for the brakes to release from when I take my foot off the brake!
Any ideas?? Going to drive it a bit more, just hoping its something a bit sticky after not being used for 10 months!

Put in my new Klaxon horn under the right hand front wheel arch. Fits well but it does not sound that loud :/

It's running direct through the alternator output fused to a switch which is rated at 16 amp.
The horn only draws 3 amps according to the packet.
