Some say... that hatchbacks are the only aspect of modern small cars that Issigonis didn't incorporate in the Mini's design, but then he saw it as a town car to carry 4 adults comfortably, not for carrying lots of gear on a daily basis.

Hate to think what that does to the rigidity of the shell (ok they may have braced it, didn't look )

I'd love to have a car with that done, but wouldn't do it to one



not especially well braced, there may be a tube behind the top of the back seat, but it wouldn't be much

I reckon it'd still be more ridid than the back of a van

I seen one at Mini Moke World yrs ago that a young girl apparently had modded to suit her
musical instrument which was fairly big. From memory the car was pink in colour, can't remember if it was a roundie or a clubbie.
