Thanks guys.

That would make for some pretty tall gearing then on the 12's (?) that they ran on. Were they a lower profile tyre, like a 65 series?

Any low-down if they did fit the 3.44's? (shaking head)

I've got the stock tyres on mine (155/80 r12) with a 3.65 & stock 1100s motor, and it's pretty damn zippy. Still easily whips rathcooles 1100 with 1098 & 4.26.

When the aus div brought out the 1100S it had a 3.76 - they should have kept it that way!

Cheers

Jacob

But would it have enough torque to get there without a dead-flat road and a tail wind? :)

I think they picked the best model to try it on, with 74 lb.ft of torque to help it along. They were almost Cooper S spec.

i was running 13 inch wheels and a 2.9 diff, lucky i had the hp to make this car run nice , sits on hwy like a dream and goes up hills without to much fuss as well, why do u all want to rev thru each gear in 2 seconds and hit top speed by 200 mtr mark anyway on a daily driver i will never know.
