There was a Mini in the MVEC hanger when I visited Darwin a couple of months back!

There has been a few Darwin members on the forum but not real active though.

My brother and his wife are school teachers up there. They are not into Minis though.

When I was last up there, there was a fantastic racing scene down at Hidden Valley. Before it was upgraded in 98, they used to stand around the pits in a t-shirt and bare feet. It's more professional now, but the racing classes are great to watch and the atmosphere is really relaxed. You can come down and throw yourself in a composite class and do some sprints. This happens about once a month.

Due to Darwin being a smaller place, a class was made up for whatever does not fit into more usual classes (This might include anything from Jap turbos through to super karts).

Hidden Valley is a lot of fun. Best part is that it's central to the whole of Darwin and Palmerston area. The maximum distance from wherever you are living will be about 15 kilometres.
