What causes the car to shudder when reversing slowly when lifting clutch foot?

i wouldn`t give them that much credit Doc

could also be Miss-aligned (mal-aligned) whatever, clutch to crank alignment issue
getting more & more common as the more people muck with things & the more things wear

Sorry to hijack the post but in a previous post you mentioned that the Asian clutch plates were thicker than original and you suggested a Japanese paddle plate as being "smooth as silk"
What brand is it and where can I get this better plate

I have never spoken of a Japanese paddle plate, it must be someone else.
I use only AP clutch plates, and AP diaphragms (blue dot, or orange dot for strokers).
