couldn't get my van to start in the rain, but the Mini did, so it was used to lug a 5 piece drum kit + cymbals + extra snare drum to the redcording studio!!

two wing nuts to pull out the front passenger seat, then fill it with drums! ha ha ha

Bought and hooked up a battery desulphator, supposedly it can recondition dead batteries. It takes a couple of weeks so I'll report back as to its effectiveness.

Also fabricated the rear mount for the passenger seat (they're a bit over engineered so hopefully the certifying engineer won't have an issue with them). Now to work on the front mounts. I'm going to cut the crossmember, fabricate a crush tube/spreader plate assembly x 4, weld them in and replate the crossmember. Overkill yes, but the engineer is pretty picky.

Pulled the engine out of the Moke so I can:
fix the oil leak
replace the clutch
replace the steering rack
replace the water pump
replace the engine steady bushes
take the head off and replace the stem seals
replace the choke o-ring in the carby
replace the blown manifold gasket.

Other jobs to do include re-shimming the front ball joints and buying new tyres.

Hung my doors. Now to start putting things back in....

Also finally capitulated after two weeks of cursing and sore hands and paid Novus to fit the chrome locking strip. Took them all of 15 minutes to do the both of them...... Barstools!!!

I wasn't there but the missus says they had a different tool to the one from minisport and it all slipped in easily. One man fed the chrome strip into the seal, the other slid the tool along.

Ive tried to get a better description of the tool but she can't really give me a more precise answer other then it wasn't the same. It mightve been exactly the same, but a different colored handle!

Changed the needle in the carby to the GR recommended one and started the engine
Runs much better. Also checked the timing with a neon timing light and all good after I moved the Megajolt VR sensor back to correct setting
Now I can install the Megajolt parts in the car and complete the wiring
