From the research I did for my 68 it probably should be Wcx548 or wc548 with champion written on it. Also there was style used where the cap was similar shape but numbered. I think it's something that varied depending on what champion supplied over the years.

See if you can test them when you are buying them. I bought some and the bloke making the leads said I might as well chuck them in the bin, the power wasn't getting through properly and I was pretty disappointed.

For what its worth my '65 Deluxe (I know its not a Cooper spec) stilll had the above - wcx548 - plugs with its orginal leads and side entry cap etc in 2006.
I know it sounds improbable - but it didnt get much use for the previous 20 years and there are no receipts/workshop log for a change of cap or leads in all the other receipts the car has, so im inclined to believe they were original.

The examiner wouldnt pass it for blue slip until the old leads, cap etc were changed for new ones.

Hope this helps.

I know these examiners are pretty dense, but why would he care? :?

I have been looking into this as well as I am restoring Paddy (a 67). Looking through old magazine pics it would seem the one with the white Champion writing is used on very early cars but not out here. All the ones like that I have seen were on UK cars circa 64/65

The ones that should be on a 67 are the first ones listed (plain black), based on an excellent photo I have of a 67 engine bay taken in 67.

The numbered leads are from a Mk2 S or mini K.

Hope this helps. G.
