The weight you can carry is the GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight) minus the tare weight.
According to the hand book...
The GVW is 2044lb which converts to 927kg.
The tare weight is 1350lb or 612kg.

So the load can weigh 315kg legally.

Wow alot of responses. I would be carrying the load in the back cos it would be my tools etc. so would be about 150-200kgs (not sure exactly) I would use it for traveling around to and from jobs but not all the time. I am pretty good as far as bein on top of maintenance and keeping an eye on things. I don't expect it to be fast or anything like that and to be honest I don like all the mod cons in the new cars which is why I'm selling my hsv ute. I would probably get a 1275 and put disc brakes on it and with a fresh built engine? Does any one have a panel van for Sale? Lol
