reading in the mini experience it says the foley/stewart broadspeed made it to the mini homecoming and sold that wk "for possibly the highest price ever paid for an australian mini"

IM curious as to what that amount was, what was it worth?

Brenton

A lot. :D

We were looking after the Broadspeed during the Mini 50 event. Was a pleasure having it here and meeting Laurie Stewart.

The car was sold to a Sydney enthusiast. Hopefully we'll see the car more in the future at racing events rather than locked away as it has been for the last 20 years.

:D

Don't know about the price but here's a Dec 2011 newspaper story on the new owner:

Would be interesting to know. I would have thought the lack of useability would limit the market against a vehicle that could be detuned and registered, and hence would apeal to a much larger audience. Would be very interesting to know what price AB would put on the ex-Manton mini for example......

I think should some of these other cars come available on the market place we may see some rather high prices paid for minis.

Care to comment AB?

Coatsie,

Like always they are only ever worth what someone is willing to pay.

While this is true there is also a value that someone would ask for a vehicle and realistically expect to get if they were to sell.

Agreed.

Usually the people that are in a position to purchase these rare
minis have the finacial backing to pay whatever the current owner is asking for.

If you compare the Broadspeed to other V8 muscle cars in the period
it is pretty cheap what he paid for it.

I also know of other minis that have sold for more than the Foley Broasdspeed in recent years.
