Why not use the moke in front?
Wouldn't have had to cut the roof off.

Agreed Kenno and Monte

You have totally destroyed a great mini shell. For what a few laughs and a bit of fun thats gunnna last a few hours and then be no good.

Just look through the pages of basketcases that people are restoring and they are a lot worse than that. Then you come and show us a picture of a really good body and then what you have done with a 9"grinder

What a shame what a real shame, i dont know why you would be proud of that?

I wouldnt be

If it was a real basket-case it partially understandable, but that, thats the farthest from a basketcase you can get. I just dont understand, I realy dont

I'm not defending this guy in any way, because what I have seen here makes me a little bit sick!, but not all is lost.
This is exactly how the poms (I use them as an example, as they seem to be doing it a lot; mainly because of their abundance of Minis) start doing a roadster/convertible conversion.

So lets see what actually happens.

Having said that, I foresee this mini being sent to the scrap yard upon completion.
But I love being proved wrong.

The bottom of the mini is gone after 25 years sitting on its belly in the dirt. Without the drums it certainly would sink. It will see more years as a charity raft than as a scrapped shell in a wreckers yard.

Bring the zoom level on your screen up a few notches & have a close look at the pics.... It's not that tidy around the bottom of the door, the A-panel or the pillar seam/scuttle panel around the bottom of the windcreen, and that's just what's visible in the pics.

I'm sure those doing the job would have thoroughly asessed the worthiness of the shell for other purposes before committing it to this. Don't get up on your high horses when you don't know the full picture.

Yes, to all the Haters, the Body shell is WAY beyound repair.... Every panel has large holes, where there is no rust holes. There is Bog... The front floor had rusted to nothing. When we loaded the car at the farmers place, the entire shell buckelled. and we are having to use some box section to keep it kinda straight....

But for all the Lovers, here is a video of its maden Test float..

yeah hey,,, ifeel the passion,,, but it is his car, he can do what he wants with it,,, sounds like it`s way worse than it looks,,,, the charity thing is admirable... leave it go

good onya brett,,, have a go & i hope you do a decent job of it so it`s a stay-er in the charity raft races for many years to come

And lets face it , if it was destined for the crusher and you can raise some money for charity, all the more power to Brett and his family

Love the video Brett, it just needs a 6HP outboard motor mounted through the floor?! to save all that paddling. :P
