Hi all

I saw a deluxe today that I was told was a Mini K.

The basis for the description was the Mk2 style body shell, it has the different pressing around the wiper shafts, it doesn't have the full length hydro pump guards. It has Mk2 style interior with a Mini K type instrument binnacle.

It is badged and plated as a deluxe so as far as I am concerned it is a deluxe but the second party thought that the Mk2 characteristics weren't right.

Any thoughts???

Steve

I think the change to hydro pressings in the floor was 1967 and to the later scuttle panel 1968.
Maybe it has had a new scuttle fitted.......
Does it have 4 captive nuts in the firewall for the K binnacle, or just 2 (as on Deluxe)

They changed the wipers about 12 months before the end of the Deluxe production.
But if it has the later wiper pattern it should also have the full length hydro guards. They changed the floors in 67, the wipers in 68 and the K started in 69.

Look under the bonnet at the ID plate and the car number. Is there a captive nut for the K dash or is there a self tapping screw through the middles of the car number?

Give me the car number and I can try to give you the date.

What capacity engine did it originally have?

That means they changed the Deluxe floors after they changed the Cooper S floors. :? Strange!

My 68 Cooper S has the later floors and the early wipers. :D
