 Post subject: fuel tank photo

ok guys has anyone have a photo of a left hand feul tank ,from around 1962 i believe there is a piece missing from mine i have a brass threaded hole in the bottom and i am thinling maybe it should have something attached at the moment it has a bolt in it help
not sure if someone has made the hole and drilled the thread for the bolt

I think you are talking about the drain plug?
It is a bolt with a tube out of the centre
You could also use a bolt if you have lost the original

DO NOT use a bolt - it won't seal properly

it's one of these, or use a brake bleeder

Thread is 3/8 UNF.
These drains are a PITA, if/when my tank comes out again it'll be getting a brass plug and some Loctite. 8)

My vans tank has a bolt, similar to a sump plug. my sedans have the drain tube. What should the van have?

bolt - very different setup to a sedan
