 Post subject: Early 850 engine ?

I have an 850 engine ....8AMUH584500 sitting on a gearbox number 5/23874. I am trying to find out their year . The body is a 65 deluxe,but,someone put sliding window doors and this engine into it. Can anyone help / Thanks Tomar[/list]

Its not real early. I'd guess late 1963. I have 115139 from January '61 and 281099 from around January '62 and production numbers were ramping up at that time.

It would be a very late fully imported 850 motor, it is a higher number than any on my list. It would have probably come from a car around the 40,000 mark.
I guess somewhere around the March to May 1964 era.

Brett's and mine are UK production dates. I'd guess that an Australian car would be 3 or 4 months later than the UK dates.
