So, the Cooper S was down on power and not starting instantly.. So.. Booked it in to the local mechanic, to adjust the timing.. Picked it up, after they had an attempt at it. Now it barley drives, coughs and back fires..... GRRR closest Mini Mechanic? 400km each way.. FFS!! That is all :evil:

DIY......read the $hit out of some tuning books and the service manual (what mini person wouldn't have one :roll: ) and have a crack yourself. Can you make it worse?

if you can't do it yourself, then find someone who does british cars - landrovers, jaguars, MG's - whatever - they all use the same gear as minis... sometimes a bit newer, but it's the same stuff, or they'll at least know where to start

taking it to someone who only does modern junk is just asking for headaches

Find out exactly what the monkey did. You'll need to speak to them in person cause what they wrote on the job sheet won't include the actual actions they performed.

Scotty is building a monster with 5 speed box, maybe rover body and 7 port head with A+ gear box
