not Cooper S, but

I want an early plastic surround too, but can't afford one at the prices they go for... I'd ring lockwood, but I don't think he'd accept any offer I could make :(

crickey,,, i just sold a couple of Mk1 speedo binacles
they were sitting here for years & years & i figured my "S" already has one, i don`t need one for the Monaco, i don`t need one for the Marcos, what am i going to do with them? so i palmed them off,,, i wondered why the guys snapped them up so quick :-) obviously didn`t ask enough for them :-(

My list:

The "elephant ears" (side covers?) that screw onto the sides of the Mark 1 heater.

Mark 1 cylinder block, suitable for sleeving OK. I'll have the crank & caps as well if you want throw those in as well!

Dream on

Wonder what my NOS Mk1 speedo is worth? Has just 0.3 miles on the odometer which is presumably the manufacturers "test" before being shipped out.

Should put it in my super. The way things are going this would have far better growth potential than shares, property etc!

cheers

Not worth anything unless your prepared to sell it to somebody.

There are loads of people with this rare sort of stuff tucked away in their garages with no intention of ever using it but just to say they have it.

They see something sell for a bundle then pop up and say I should sell mine..but they dont.

/end rant!

Don't you just love wild, sweeping statements.

Perhaps the underlying message in the post is that the price of Mini parts is going through the roof and where does it end.

The first sentence is a classic. Many people have assets (eg a house) that they don't need to sell. Doesn't mean they're worthless.

At the end of the day, you have no idea what my intentions are with regard to the speedo. For your information it is earmarked for a project but, indeed, make me an offer I can't refuse and it's yours! Put your money where your mouth is.
