Happy Easter MiniMan
I hope this conversation is not raising your blood pressure too much?
Not sure if that's a good idea?

nah,,, no way!!!

it`s funny as really, because my rehab specialists check heart rates & BP`s before , during & after exercise,,, & nearly everyone there has high blood pressure & high heart rate to start with, let alone after a work-out,,, But mine is always a laugh bcause it`s slightly low before,,, almost normal during,,, & back to slightly low after exercise

I`m sooooooo not a heart attack patient,,,, i didn`t even have high cholesterol,,, try & work that lot out

so,,, no chance of having high blood pressure here :-) Absolutely No chance :-)

&, Right from the start, The docs prescribed me the std issue heart-attack pills & one of them is designed to "attempt" to lower your blood pressure,,,, well they actually nearly killed me because my blood pressure was already low :-) & taking those pills dropped it dangerously low... needles to say they took me off that particular tablet after finding out that i was almost fainting every time i stood up :-)

I like one of the mini mans ideas. If everyone lists 100 plates on their way to work and reports them all as dodgy needing to be checked the police will soon have 1000s of reports and will give up on the idea

that or they'll start some stupid 'crack task force' with what's left of our tax paying $$$ and have them 'combing' over all the reports..

soooooo,,,, instead , we could all start reporting all the police car number-plates & all the council cars number-plates & all the politicians cars number-plates & report them all as defective/illegally modified & see where that goes :-)

I think its a pretty low act. As most car shows are charity events where people are there to have fun, show off what they have spent hours of work on and raise a little money for people who are in need. Its actions like this that will kill the events.

Just a reminder to those in Victoria, don't forget to fill out your logbook when using your CPS car. I have heard that a number of people at a recent Hot Rod show went home $600 poorer because their logbooks were checked and weren't filled out. There's no excuse for not filling out the logbook and 90 days a year should be more than enough for recreational purposes (i.e. it is not supposed to be a daily driver).

Relative easy fix, cover your cars registration details when at a car show. a couple of them $2 shop betty boop/elvis number plates , a bit of tape over rego label and vin/engine numbers.

Just while we're sooking about coppers pulling people up in modded cars, and then not knowing the ADR's backwards, try walking a mile in their shoes first.

Pressure from superiors to attain monthly benchmarks with no relation to their primary role (try a Marine cop required to meet traffic benchmarks), lack of training, dealing with uppity members of the public all day, who are only too happy to dob them in at the first opportunity.

Getting investigated by internals for smacking the hep alphabet junkie that spat in their face, and then they pull over some smartypants who tries to make them look a fool because they don't know what year external mirrors became compulsory.

I agree that some, or even lots of cops are tw@ts, but when some scumbag knocks your Nanna over for her pension check, will you call your car mates or the cops?

Thats right, talk to the cop with respect and there will be no problem.

i agree, about half the cops i've come across are pretty good (one able to have a laugh after making a silly mistake for example), with most of the remaining being disinterested and going through the motions because they are told to, and the last segment being absolute **** on a power trip/bad day, just out to get you for SOMETHING and they don't care what

Vic roads have inspectors that attend at car shows, they look around and if they see something that needs to be engineered and it hasn,t been, it is their job to make them comply. dont forget these cars are being driven on the road next to uor wives andkids, you would be the first to complain if a disaster was to happen and it was fou d to have been an illegal modification that failed that caused the accident, think about it. makes sense to me.

Ummmmmmmm - if they see something that needs to be engineered and it hasn,t been....

Ummmmm how do they know the engineering papers aren't in the glove box (ummm well parcel shelf) without declaring who they are and whether they are there as Joe Public or in an official capacity???

Keep your car legal then there is nothing to worry about ...

as was said in an earlyer post how would you feel if it was your kids or family who were injured by an illegaly modified vehicle .. its no different to ricers with dodgy cars ..

I can tell you every time i get a fine .. I deserve it ..

Beanie

It would be nice if it was that simple Beanie...unfortunately, the dodgy brakes on the bog stocker that draws absolutely no attention, is every bit as lethal as the "modified" car in the spotlight...
