Painted 2 hydro front subbies with Aldi's gloss black enamel. It's good stuff, brushes on great, is cheap too. 8)
`paints directly over rust' they said. I did wire brush then rust convert it first...

Got a good one here Dave, PM me.

[edit] What did I do today? Made up some tooling so I can hold Hypatec pistons in the lathe (without the chuck) to machine their tops for strokers. Then did 4 to prove it works.:P

Changed the temperature gauge out with a better unit (Thanks Morris) and took her for a spin up in the hills near here.

Finished off the central locking.

Bled the clutch and replaced 2 of the clevis pins and discovered that the previous owner has drilled out the clutch housing to fit a bigger bolt instead of the right size pin. So at some stage I guess I will be replacing the housing and arm but it is still fairly tight so should be okay for now. Clutch is now worse then it was before I replaced the pins.

That L wheel went for a pretty penny. Was watching from my phone.

Yes, I couldn't believe the wheel went so high. The grille was cheaper than I expected though.

Today I replaced by steering rack in the Moke. Not too hard since the engine is out and it is already on stands but still took a bit of swearing. With the new lower column bush also fitted it is so much better. I took out a 10 year old but only about 2000km quick rack that had gone sloppy.

Thanks Kev!

An I also dropped my flywheel/clutch assembly off at the Miniman's place to get set up and balanced.

Just a few more jobs and the engine can go back into the moke.

M

I refitted a rebuilt forward clutch assembly (thanks, Greig!) to a Morris 1100S automatic.
It's a fun job to align the pipes and valve linkage, but it's back in the box OK after a few goes..

My brother pulled down an old 1100 engine and box for me on Friday. Crank has blue paint and yellow dots on it. Also one end seems to have had some grinding..

Anyone got any clues fron the photo below???
