Now we are going to have the whole clubby roundnose debate all over again to decide which mini profile we use

This is the reason why I was trying to avoid it.

And look how many times the idea has been used! Zzzzz...

I have noticed that Poeee hasn't entered into this, and i doubt he will. What you guys are discussing is something i face everyday, as a Web designer and video editor. EVERYONE has an Opinion and EVERYONE is correct. Why, because it is personal taste. What you may like isn't what other will like. So, i won't give my opinion as is doesn't matter, what matters is what Poeee likes. He designed it and will change it when he feels he needs to. As the Webmaster i get people emailin me all the time saying how much they like the site and then proceed to tell me to change it..... So, unless poeee wants to do something different then this is all just a bit of nothingness. Sorry but true. Do what ya want Poeee, it's your site.

Cheers

aaron

There is nothing to say that people cant make up their OWN logo for their OWN use to suit their OWN particluar car..... as long as it doesnt defamate the site it should be OK...... surely.

Or is that infringing copyright?

Hey, I'm just playing around. I just feel that the exsiting one doesn't feel very... professional. It's not the photo that bugs me as such, its the text.

jill200sx may know what I'm talking about... Back me up Jill! :)

Hey Hey! I only just found this thread ;)

umm yeah Id have to agree it "could" do with a revamp, but I totally understand there is no reason to change... but same deal as you FM, Id like to whack a sticker on mine when I get it on the road...

I like that you got the ball rolling.. those who dont want to go with a new look wont... thats ok.. but I wouldnt mind seeing or even throwing a few variations into the pot..

I'm thinking... it should be British Racing green
it should reflect Minis (pref roundies coz they are the original Mini)
if you want it to look good on a sticker its got to be a simple cutable image..

I dunno but my effort...

i like the 2nd one, its kinda ricey but good. if we use the crazy taxi ausmini we will probably get sued by whoever made that game. the last one is cool as well. if you want to put it on a sticker, it has to be simple and easy to read. i reckon the last one would look aweosme at the bottom af the rear window.

but remeber, if its just fr the site, there are several styles that all have a different logo. unless sits just that front page.

Good idea but...
Here we go!
What if you had the words 'ausmini.com' make up the mini instead of having the mini cut out of 'ausmini.com'?

just a thought

Mini Freak, the lettering would become way too hard to read.

I like Jill's idea a lot. The 'cut-out' Mini is definately a cool aspect.

I think the current one is fine. The pic has it all: Clubby, round nose and Bini.
The text is fine as is. A simple rule of design= KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid. The other saying is Less Is More. Basically if you try too hard to make something complicated that looks good, it just looks complicated.
All the suggested designs have been simple (good) but there is nothing in them to relate to Minis.
The logo as is is fine for any digital use. If you want something that will print well on paper (cheaply) or can be used in cut out form (stickers) then yes, a change is needed, but it needs to be readily identifiable as for Minis, and Australia.
Cheers, Watto.
