Attempted to remove the clevis pin from a wok which had sat, attached to a Mini K lump, in my old boss's garden for the last umpteen years.
All I really wanted here was the wok and the release bearing plunger. The arm had been bent to buggery in the past.

WD40 +VBFH? No go.
Heat gun + VBFH? No go. By now the end of pin was mushrooming.... :x
Cut end off pin with anglegrinder. :P
BFH + pin punch + anvil? No go. Obviously the pin is well rusted into the arm.

Eff it, it can go in the skip then. I'll go search the dungeon for another.

Continued the strip out ready for paint, someone clever has worked on this car before when I took out the back seat there were two large 2 inch holes drilled for access to the top of the shocks , what a good idea you don't have to remove the twin tanks to change the shocks.

Finally fitted the reco'd steering rack after;

Cutting off and drilling out the old subframe bolts.
Taking back and patching parts of the floor which had surface rust,
Welding reinforcing washers to the floor where the new bolts will go through,
And finally was able to lower the subframe and install the rack.

What a farce!....

installed a new oil pressure sampling line for the gauge.
I also attempted to strip the wheels of paint but the stripper didnt seem to work. I just ended up sanding it off.

Went to put the new rear facing thermostat housing on and realised the bolt upstands for the radiator mount are taller than the old one by a good 1/4"....

Some cutting and filing to do tomorrow.

I spent hours trying to make a mini sized parking space in my shed. I only got 1/2 way because it involves dismantling the pallet racking and reassembling it and it is full of stuff. Should have room for the new car soon. Very exciting

Spent the weekend re-stacking the shed. Couple new shelves, to stack all my bits (the glasshouse and spare room are full already) - Yes, you can't have too many spares.

Anyhow, today got into the second door for the wifes 997. Two small patches to weld. What da? No (MIG) gas left. New bottle last week. I bought one of those small disposable "tubes". Sick of yearly rental. Was paying more rent than gas used. Anyhow, the little fella was leaking thru the valve. Took it back to Bunnings and they swapped it.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Horrah for Liz R.

Put the cover back on the "S" as it didn't stop raining and I couldn't take it for a drive. :(
Went for a drive to pick up some new door cards for the van and then came home and bolted the sub-woofer into the boot of the project mini. :)
What a miserable weekend in Sydney! :?
