This one is for the brain trust.

Did this type of seat belt mechanism come from a mini? If so, what year and/or model?

Yes it did.

I know for sure they came in clubmans (my 71 model has it) Not exactly sure of when it was introduced (I reckon about 71)

I think they continued until retractable seatbelts came in (mid to late 70's not sure exactly when)

But that DEFINITELY came in a mini

Pretty much identical to the Veedub one though.

Great. They came in a mini I purchased recently. The car didnt come with any other seat belt bits.

Does it normally have a square Leyland sticker on it? It looks as though it should have something.

probably, but being a leyland item, chances are the sticker fell off 5 minutes after it left the dealer

Is anyone able to post a picture of the seat belt tongue?
A mate may have the other bit I need.

They were identical in my 71 Clubby to those in the 74 Bug I have now.

I reckon they were simply made by the same supplier. There was not many seat-belt manufacturers in early 70's Aus, and both cars were made here.

Cheers,
