heres a response i got. i emailed her to ask questions on it...

"sorry. price listed is right. The seats alone are worth 1,500 each and the exhaust is worth that again aswell. I have been offered 12,000, and valued at 15,000. the car is on hold, but still on the market"

I just had a look, and yeah, the seats are $350USD or bout $500AUD. Far cry from 1500 bucks, either that or the installer is one RICH guy.

And a twin 2 Inch exhaust, which obviously still comes off a single collector would be about 600 bucks in mandrel bent Stainless, plus the headers would bring it up to about a grand, maybe?

As to "hardly anything repaired or replaced". Obviously somebody hasnt owned there mini for more than a few weeks.

Titanium's not that expensive either, we only get $1.25 a kilo at the scrapyard

hehe.. $15k

i should go check it out. his location on ebay is like 10 mins drive from my house.

i reckon i got it sussed tho.

ok it's "hardly anything replaced or repaired" because the shell is 100% stainless steel. like a DeLorean. however stainless steel is not the only idea this car borrows from the DeLorean. the, what appear to be unpainted MDF door trims are as such because they need to be removed often to check the flux capacitor and time circuits. painted trims would scuff too easily.

and i can't believe you're all making fun of "Not many of these square-nosed minis left, be quick."

the important word in that is THESE. by these, the seller means the type of square-nose mini that travels through time. i'll bet none of you have seen one of those !! hence rare.

and it's not a 1100 with a 1.5" SU. everybody knows u have to do 88mph to travel through time... :D

So not only does vendor think that someone might pay $15,000 for it, but also silly enough to think that people might not recognise they have created another profile to bid on their own gear.

LMFAO, or there's someone out there that really is dumber than the person trying to sell it. Maybe I shouldnt say that, coz they could still join the forum, if they buy it and read all this.

Eh..... too bad, they'd only get told in person hehehehehehehe

10 bux says the one bid gets retracted just before the auction ends, because the dummy bidder (the owner) won't want to pay the selling fee to ebay. 6% of $14 000 is $840.....

If he/she forgets then they will have to pay that amount to ebay for a no sale (if it is a dummy bid)

I think Clara or whatever teh name is needs a reality check!!

Reminds me of a guy at the Hanging Rock show this year. This dude walks up to a group of us hanging around our Minis and asks if we like Mokes. The guy claims he has an immaculate Moke Californian for sale, independantly valued at $9,000.

As the conversation progresses we discover:
- The Moke has a "tiny" amount of rust in the floor.
- The seats need restitching.
- It's a stock 998cc with drums.
- It hasn't been driven for five years.
- The valuation was by a mate who "knows all about Mokes" and told him "not to accept less than nine grand for it". But this mate has never seen the car :!: :!:

Well, we laughed at him, and he moved onto the next group of Minis and repeated the same story.

I rest my case, your honour. :)
