Hi Phil
My parts book lists it as 2A9146, this is for the assy. inner/outer.
Hope this helps. If not I could have a look on the Microfische for you.

Thanks

Ian

Phil, that number is in the Clubman parts book as a Clubman speedo cable.

Thanks

Is it for a centre speedo clubman because it is short? Shorter by an inch compared to a new centre speedo cable I have.

Now you mention it!
It is the YG2S6 speedo cable. The poverty model with the centre speedo.

The full story from the parts book
YG2S6 = AYG9304
YG2S7 = AYG9305
YG2S8 = AYG9305
SPO 27 and 28 = NPN, Refer Smiths.

... and in the Parts Amendment Advice #80 dated March 1973 (for PUB1052 Mini Clubman Series) it was replaced by AYG9305. I guess they figured it wasn't worth holding a separate part for the poverty model when a slightly longer one would do the job.

By the way, the SPO 27 and 28 specifications are for the NSW Police vehicles which had a Stewart Warner Police Special calibrated speedo in place of the standard one. This required a special cable as the fitting on the SW speedo was different to the Mini (Smiths) speedo. Because the standard speedo was inoperative, anyone buying an ex-Police Cooper S or Clubman GT at the NSW Goverment auction would find a very low odometer reading.

I just looked up the price from my December 75 price book.
AYG9305 rec price was $4.65 and the trade price price was $3.72.

By January 1977 it was $5.10 and $4.08.

Hey guys, thanks for looking that up,

So.... I guess the fact that its an inch shorter it won't fit my car (1275).

Is the drive location slightly further away on the larger motor?

here tis....

The only reason I can think for it being an inch shorter would be to save money. :lol:
