Well... my van does need its floors replaced.
It also needs the seat crossmember replaced too, as it's more than likely been sitting outside (uncovered) and water has pooled on the floors, and rusted it.
Minisport SA have replacement early floors - front to rear.

Firstly, I want to know if these floors are the same length.
I seem to recall that the main floor section of a Sedan & Van are the same... but then again I am probably wrong!

Secondly, I want to know if it is a job which I should steer well clear of and let a crash shop tackle it, or whether it's safe to do "at home".
TIG/MIG/Braze? What options are there.

The sills are pretty buggered too, so I think these would be done at the same time too.

Panelwork - my most dreaded things about cars.

A van floor is longer than a sedan one, as the wheelbase is longer.

If your not really good at panel work I wouldn't recommend it, it's not an impossible job but it's quite tricky and critical to brace everything correctly if your replacing the whole floor. Some roadworthy places are quite picky when it comes to noticeable panel replacement, they can ask you to get a panel beater to sign off on the work which noone will as you can never be sure unless you have done it yourself. Any other panels you can practice on before you tackle a major? Sills are easy.. But you need to floor in really to do them

Get Adamstuart to take a week off work, buy his airfare, some mig wire and 5kg of bacon, profit.

The mini van uses the sedan floor panel except has an extra bit welded onto it because the wheel base is a few inches bigger.

Yair willy, don't cut out the last 4 inches of the floor pan.
If you look carefully you can see where the standard floor pan overlaps the extension piece. Unfortunately this overlap is usually one of the bad parts for rust.

It sounds like none of the floors fit 100% correctly so would be very expensive to get a panel beater to do the work you described and also to find one willing to take the job on.
With that amount of work and possible future work sounds like time for you to learn to weld or find a welder who does cash jobs
Dont cut anything out til you have the replacement panels and with that amount of work tackle one panel at a time.
