It was also a colour scheme used on some Mk11 ford escorts. A rally driver of the time called Ed Mulligan was commissioned to design and produce some special delivery "sporty" escorts with that colour scheme, big mag wheels and flairs. Probably some engine and suspension mods also.

They were certainly sold through the Parramatta based Thompson Ford.
