I hear you about the Moke owners not wanting to be called Mini owners but the the same sort of things happen the other way around.

I think it was my last MOCQ meeting (the straw that broke the camel's back) when a guy lectured me for a good 15 minutes that the Cooper S was so fundamentally different from lesser minis that they shouldn't be referred to as a mini at all, just a Morris Cooper S. He insisted that the body and all important parts were so different that the car was totally different to drive and in its capability.

I guess he never saw the Cooper S bodies going down the assembly line at Zetland mixed in with the Deluxes and Mini Ks then.
Body differences were, let's say, `minor'. The big deal was the windscreen (laminated, woohoo!)

I've never seen that, but the early ones had rubber shields on the swivel hubs protecting the cv boots.
