 Post subject: Mini Matic Body
PostPosted: Sat Aug 18, 2012 4:20 pm
Hi, I have 1968 Mini Matic that has on the rear floor 2 small square welds. They have never been ground back. Is this peculiar to the Matic or do I have something different.

I think you might have something different. My 68 minimatic doesn't have the squares, just normal mini body minus the gear stick hole.

Mine is 3/70 and the same, no welds.

Perhaps is floor reinforcing under the rear of the seat frame? I have seen floors crack through there when BIG people have owned Minis....

Email them to me and I'll host them for you.
Or look at the how to post pics thread in `how-to' forum.

I'd almost say damage repairs but the rest of the floor looks to straight :?

Weird, there is in the second pic a definite square but nothing like the welded ones. Looks like a some sort of a punched mark but way too symmetrical.

I think there are tabs welded there underneath to hold pipes etc. It's a 67> hydro floor with the channels in.
