I buy from Mini King and Karcraft.
I support the local shops that have supported us for years.

Sorry to hijack, but where is the best place to buy panels from? I am after a new floor for the traveller as it has had a dodgy repair job in the past.

If it is a traveller peculiar item I would think you might have to go OS, otherwise Karcraft has panels.

I think SC parts have at the moment have another "free postage" deal on, so buy a complete pan from them.

Travellers (and vans) use a sedan floor with a short extension at the back.

Isn't that just the Oz vans, (to save tooling cost)? I thought all UK ones had a full length 1 piece floor...

Me too! John is the first one I call, even though he's in Sydney and I'm in Melbourne. His knowledge and friendly demeanor is much more important to me than pure price, and we need to keep establishments like Mini King in business for the sake of the next generation of Mini enthusiasts.

So did I after reading it in The Mini Experience, but I guess it was mis-remembered by the teller.

There's a floor extension piece about 4 inches long that was used on UK vans and Travellers. Part number 14A9023, still available from Heritage. Image

x2

The info I researched all said that the UK estate and van Minis had single-piece floor. The point of the Aussie ones with the short extension on the sedan floor was to save costs on CKD packs (didn't have to include the floorpans from UK) - side panels and roof came CKD from UK.

So, now there is a floor extension piece available from Heritage. I wonder if it is a replacement for an original panel, or a fix-up patch type panel?

Very curious.

Watto.

Its the original panel, not a patch, or a modern day method to avoid pressing a van floor. In my Traveller, and the other later ones that I've seen photographed, the join is clearly visible under the rear seat.

I asked on the Mk1 conversions forum in the UK and the reply was that all UK vans and Travellers used the sedan floor.
