I had my son find an app and downloaded Travel-Tracker for the Red-X Run next Sunday, fitted a SCA mobile phone cradle for the convenience of zero-ing the kilometres. Tim loaned me a Terra Trip last Classic Rally Event which was great but about $350 more expensive than the $2 app. Red car running nicely with new spark plugs. WB :D

I purchased a Dremel carbide burr and port matched my HIF44 to my Mini Spares Centre inlet manifold. It is now matched perfectly on the carby (TBI really as I've converted to EFI) side (was roughly a 1.6" diameter hole, when it should have been 1.75" diameter).

I replaced the throttle position sensor, as the old one had become noisy at the idle position; hopefully it is now cured.

I then re-assembled the new 1.5 ratio rockers (well they are new, it's just that I haven't got around to fitting them in the last 18 months!). I must say the Mini Spares rocker alignment is very poor, but luckily I had ordered spacer shims to help get them aligned central to the valve stem. Time will tell if I pick up any performance, and hopefully don't lose to much at the bottom end.

Painted some under bonnet bits, and fitted the newly painted radiator shroud to my $90 Chinese alloy radiator.

Hopefully will have car going again for this coming Saturday (my Birthday!).

Edit: Forgot to say I also fitted my new Cobra recliner seats (my B'day present to myself). Boy are they comfortable!

Yeah!
Jim :D

Washed it in preparation for its hibernation. About to drive it to its new home for the next 6 months or so until we have time & space to get started on it :(

Sad day, at least I'm not actually getting rid of it though, but the rolling resto has stopped rolling!

Pulled the fuel cell & the remains of the LH drifeshaft from the track mini last night. Hopefully all repaired by tomorrow so I can refit on Saturday.

That is the Test piece, Block of Aluminium, Which I Cut a Modified Combustion Chamber Shape into to Test my New CNC Program.
Round Pockets are to show me where Valve Centers are.
Very Happy with it

Geezus man!!!!!! Does that give you the horn?

Dave, having this program would ensure each and every combustion chamber is exactly the same? That would take out any inconsistencies done by hand grinding, true?

That is the dogs bollocks. Great research and development. Good luck with it.
Ty
PS. who gave you that design?

Not a new application of cnc but a very useful one. Assuming the measurements and valve centres are correct it allow you to accurately machine identical combustion chambers.

Good for high Hp Na engines, turbo or even roadies. Good for anything really.

Without in chamber sensors and direct injection you have to assume that the data gathered from the exhaust is similar for all cylinders, however inconsistencies in shap and volume means that some cylinders run hotter or have less flow or don't achieve a full burn. This aliviates those issues. Way cool.

Was early getting to my mates place that I'm storing the car at for the next few months so I took it for a squirt through Galston Gorge for the first time. I couldn't have done anything better to motivate myself to get it back on the road as soon as possible, was a blast!
