Went to dinner last night and came across two of these
They are small portable speed cameras which advise you of your speed when you exead the limit. Both were in 40-50Klms hour spots.
I did not see any cops with them  but always expect them PLease
Why am I putting this in Mini CHat..Well its the easiest way to check your speedo calabration

I saw a couple last year, in school zones. Bloody good idea.. as long as the cops are not there too!

They have them on trailers in Melbourne they park on the roadside. They show your speed on approach and a smiley face if you are under the limit, a sad face if you are over. Pretty funky.

Last time I saw one it was conveniently placed on a short strech of road with a roundabout at either end. So I went past several times to check my speed-by-tacho-in-4th gear figures. (My speedo is way out!)

Follwed a cop car through one once. It stayed on a sad face the whole time - 75 in a 60 zone and the cop didn't slow. :x

Yeah I've seen them here in Perth, too. Around schools.

Yeh they have some in WA. the police have a largish one they put on the freeway roadworks often and a few small yellow ones around school zones...i wonder when theyll start to put small hidden cameras in them to pick up speeding motorists....
