If that's replica money, I wonder what a real one is worth?

Although we know the Throttle Shop comes with it's own tax before GST!

Advertising it as a Cooper S when clearly it is'nt. someone buy it and take them to court for selling a fake.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

They are the same mob who advertised a 1977 LS1275 as a Cooper S(in the same breath of LS1275) and wanted $28990 for the trouble. I was hit with a tyrade of abuse when I mentioned it wasn't a S and was threatened with litigation for defaming their business(wasnt on this site either as I went in personally). The fellow could not show me anything that would have made it a Cooper S and used the old chestnut "I think I know a Cooper S when I see one...". What a pratt!!

"The car we offer today was commissioned in 1991 and built off the original plans. It is an exact replica of the official Broadspeed."

I would like to see the "original" plans because the rear end is so far from "exact" it is not funny!

A beautiful finish, no doubt about it! But they should not make the above claim when it is very clearly inaccurate to the original design. I won't even discuss the Cooper 'S' issue.

It's very funny the person that "commissioned it" was my night time panel beating teacher he took some measurements off the foley one and scaled up pictures it is all steel unlike the other ones

I just went for a quick search and found this one in wattos mag.
I can't get the Throttle Shop one up, the photo angle is a bit different but the rear end styling on the TShop one seems be not 'sharp' enough to be an accurate replica.
Which is a damn shame considering the amount of work put into it, especially if its done in metal. You could not possibly want to pay 50 grand for a car the seems somewhat inaccurate.

I think I saw the same car advertised in the Newcastle area with a different paintjob a few years ago for $12k. It was in Just Cars magazine.

There's this one, here in Tassie, which looks like a Broadspeed at first glance, only its not right. The roof should be a smooth curve from the windscreen to the back, but this one has a sharp change of direction behind the doors. As well as a few detail differences in the boot area.

Its a really nice car that someone has spent a lot of money on, but I don't like the fact that its pretending to be something it isn't.

Edit:
There are more pictures of it in this thread.

That car was built in queensland out of a 68 deluxe i think.
Its meant to be a replica and is made of steel..
I know the guy who owns it and its a very nice car.
The roof has been lowered and windscreen raked back abit also.
