MiniBill, I think you are talking about a product called "Never Seez".

There are 2 types of anti-seize, copper based and nickel based.

The copper one made here is called KoprKote and now sold by Caltex (was Ampol previously). It's in a tin.
There are other brands of similar stuff, in tubes.

The nickel anti-seize one I have is in a tube, Permatex brand, sold by Supercrap, AutoBarn, Repco etc.

Nickel one is best for high temps, eg. exhaust system slip joints. The copper one is fine for everything else.

I found Penetrine at the local industrial tool supplier. $8.15 for a half litre bottle. Works just as well as the last bottle I finished years ago.

Cheers,

Its not meant for drinking , i prefer Bourbon

As an aside does anyone remember/know the name of the silver/metallic paste that you would put on bolts so they wouldnt sieze ? we used it on water pumps years ago to ward of rusting etc " not sure how it would go in a car though " ? anyone used it tried it ?

Cheers Bill

It is obviously an anti sieze paste. There are a few with different components. Eg copper etc.

Supercrap have a couple of different ones for about $8 a tube i think.

Despite the obvious contradiction, Loctite make a couple of good antiseize products. They have a silver (which I think is nickel) and a copper. They come in a thing like a glue stick, which is really convenient to use because it doesn't leak out all over the place like the stuff that comes in tubes.
