I am trying to put the head back on. One of the push rods drops down two far. Anyone know how to rectify the situation?

What size motor?

If small bore, remove tappest chest covers and check the lifters are in place...

Compare all pushrods and check they are the same length???

Need some more info...

998 motor and all rods are the same length without any distortion.

What's happened is, you pulled the pushrods and one of the lifters has pulled up by oil suction and fallen inside the tappet chest. That pushrod is going down until it touches the cam...
Just pull the cover off and drop the lifter back in.
