That washer in your link doesn't look right for a Contessa wheel. The wheels are Oz made I doubt you will buy nuts or washers to suit in USA.
The nuts sold for these wheels now are cheap (chinese?) steel, with maybe 1 micron of chrome on them. Use the wheel brace a few times and they start to rust.
Why not do what I did and get Matt Read, aka TheMiniman to make you a nice set of SS Contessa nuts?
I had 32 made (16 for me, and 16 for Laingy)
They look a million bux compared to the Contessa ones on my car.

I'd not take those washers out, they are an interference fit. Just brush them up and repaint the wheels.

I've just redone a set of 5 Contessas for the van, will put pics up tomorrow of the wheels and the SS nuts..

I`ve only one set of the stainless contessa nuts left now & i doubt that i`ll be making any more for a long while

i`m still trying to finish off Ty`s nuts (sounds almost kinky doesn`t it?) :-)

I got a new set of nuts and had them chromed as I found the original "chrome" did just flake off

here's a pic-

The LH wheel is an old one, paintstripped and repainted. Have 3 more the same. The nuts are the SS ones.
Paint used was epoxy primer, then VHT's `quick coat' gloss black acrylic enamel. It's durable, dries fast with great gloss. They got 4 coats. 1 can did all 5 wheels.
The RH wheel is a NOS one, had no washers in. I made 4 new washers then painted it. It has a bigger centre hole. Will be used for the spare.
All wheels were wet sanded in a lathe with 600, then 1200 wet/dry paper, I've not hit them with the Mothers mag wheel polish yet.
[edit] Any kerb rash on the 4 old ones was machined off first.
