Be careful with the sixes, everything except the widest of arches will not be able to cover the tyres fully. They look porn however.

Any ideas how far?

Just picked up a set of fibre group 5 arches for a rainy day. Wondering how wide I'll have to go to fill them

Anybody? Anybody at all know actually how far out the 5" and 6" mambas sit?

My 6's measure 32cm from the inner guard by the shocky to the outside of the tyre.

This is the measurement I tried to get when selecting my wheels, but was given a bum steer. So here is the measurement you are after (taken five minutes ago) for 10x6 Mamba's from Midland Wheels.

From the face of the disc, or the stepped drum, which the rim butts up against, to the out edge of the wheel rim is 100mm.

Lowered they will rub the front of the guard. Mine sits high and has just touched the front of the flare backing on standard type oringinal flares.

Going by mine you would need at least 80mm wide flares.

I was talking about the info I got from Midland Wheels. And you said yours were revo's. the question was about Mamba's.

Ok my mistake. Never said anything about revos, re read my original post, though do have 6x12 revos on my LS from midland wheels if you would like me to measure them too

Could you possibly run 5's on the front and 6's on the back?
Whats the difference between that and say a Torana running 8s on the front and 10s on the back....

One is front wheel drive, the other is rear.

The run bigger rears to get the power down.
So by that logic, you would run 6's on the front and 5's on the back.

I doubt many people's mini's have traction issues to the point that 6's are needed to get the power on the road. At least not many a-series powered minis

Hey guys, i have another question for all you 10x6 mamba owners.

On midlandwheels website they say the 10x6 need modifications to fit. I'm assuming they're meaning wheel arch cutting? Or are they referring to the flares? anyone run into troubles?

More about the handling - lift-off oversteer etc. Minis are actually wider at the front anyway so have this bias built in, not sure you'd want to accentuate it, but I guess many do without realising it when they fit discs and non-spacered drums.

I did have problems with the outer corners of the wheels fouling the flairs supports close to lock at a standard height. This will be what they mean.

That's interesting, sounds a wee bit more than indicated by the info on their site.

They say ET-7 which (by my maths this early in the morning) puts 83mm out from the centre line (the mounting face). Wheels are measured inside bead to inside bead so to get 100mm that means outside bead/rim is 17mm thick?

Yeah you can clearly see the rotor vents are clear of the wheel so the offset is big.. Meh

Ah ok fair enough. That'll be a pain in the ass but a necessary evil
