Building a new shed and keen for ideas.. Looking for neat, Tidy organised...

I have those galvanised knock up metal shelves drilled into the brick so they don't fall over. They can fit 3 mini gearboxes and or blocks per shelf, so about 10 of them will do nicely

Lillee - 1969 Morris Mini K

I used Dexion slotted angle shelving, bought cheap s/h from where my wife worked. It's pretty tall but I can safely climb on it.
I also have a few of those cheap knockup angle shelves like Lillee ^^^ but they are quite narrow, and flimsy too.

Second hand pallet racking with yellow tongue flooring screwed to the beams. On top of that sits the Supercheap plastic tubs. I get six wide, two deep and two high per shelf and at one stage had over 80 of them. I sit the racking in bays out from the wall so both sides are accessible.

Got the racking from Absoe in West End delivered and cheap as chips. Whole power unit on the shelf, no problems. Whole shell on top of racks" also no problem.

Not the best shot but at the right is the racking with the parts. The shell is at the top centre.

Just out of curiosity Mokesta, do you remember the pricing on the pallet racking? And how'd you get that shell up that high??

I am thinking about this.. Seems cheap.. perhaps to cheap

I got my shelving about 3 years ago and don't recall the pricing sorry. They cut the uprights to my preferred length and delivered within a couple of days. Fantastic service. They had beam of 2600, 2800 and 3000mm long. Also different depths for different load capacities. You can get mesh shelves but I wanted solid. I chose the 2600 light beams so the overall bay width was 2800.

I got 8 ends and about 24 beams from memory.

I use one bay, with shelves set very high and a work bench inserted at 900.

Just get them in the right place! I had to move them all to get the dark blue one in. Now one bay is limited to single side access.

I got the shell up there by myself walking it up on more rack beams then sliding it across onto the fixed ones.

Top stuff!, must have taken a few bottles of courage to walk the shell up there on your own!

I just had a squiz at the absoe website, the pricing is very reasonable!

20 foot shipping container + a 8x4m shed and a heap of other places in other sheds and so on.

In the attic, unlabeled and in various cardboard boxes, so when I come to reassemble it takes me seven times as long.

All my spare parts are small fidly bits now. Only big parts I have are some van doors.

After a visit to a guy at Lisarow to buy the van doors, I saw how he had his gear stored and was impressed.

I now have plastic storage boxes, with labelled zip-lock bags. Everything stays tidy, clean and organised....I would have to say it's the only stuff I have that stays this way

A four-bay Compactus from a secondhand Government office furniture supplier. Provides maximum accessible storage in minimal space. Not big enough for body shells and panels though. Cost a few hundred dollars, including delivery and installation.

Pallet racking for me as well. Can't go past it with the floor boards as shelves. I get all of mine from these guys www.rackpallet.com.au

I am about to try their longspan shelving for my garage to keep the bits I need handy more accessible as i don't have room in there for full size pallet racking .

Hi im using ex supermarket shelves that i picked up for $250 got a total of 13meters wort of shelving for that along with nally tubs and milkcrates aint fancy but does the job
