ok so i have found my weakness ..

i can't for the life of me tell if my fan is on the wright way ..
i thought it was fine buyt now after looking at the Cooper on the shannons auction im all confused.. would this explain why the Fan is so noisy ?

The reason its noisy is because its a 4 blade fan.

I take exception to the 1st line in that Minisport ad, sure they were designed for Australian conditions:
In 1965 we got a new improved radiator with 16 gills (fins) per inch.
Was still a 3 core but cooled much better than the previous ones.

As for fans, I believe the original 16 blade metal fan on our cars was an Australian design, then adopted by the Poms.
IMO it's still the best/quietest for a road car.

Cooper S overheating in traffic? that's a /flame subject for another thread..

I think the four blade fans will only go on one way?
And yes they are very noisy.

I would look at whatever is causing the heating issue. The fan is not causing it to overheat.

For what its worth I love my 4 blade fan, pushes a shiteload of air, noisy? Yep, can I hear it over the sound of a fat Weber and exhaust? Nope

As others said sort the rest of ur cooling first, flush and reverse flush everything, use a good, real coolant (ones that you have to make up are good, little bottle of tectaloy gold is great) well sorted radiator, good working thermostat should make it cooler for ya!
