Ok... It all good!
Now I had a mini friend who is a paint and panel guy over.... He says it great... He also says it is original with wind ups?! That possible? Reg as a 65 on rubber so later cooper....

They have been put on... Hand made.... Along with the mk2 cooper s flares I have with it!

Edit: I mean lip on arches are home made... Flares are real lol!

Only way that you can tell if the shell is genuine Cooper is from the few subtle additions/changes made to a standard production body (in the case of a 997 Cooper it's the 850 shell). These are very similar to the changes made to a De Luxe shell which makes an Australian Cooper S.

Some of the changes have already been mentioned in this thread already and should provide enough detail to determine if the shell is genuine. Some clear pics of other areas will also assist to determine originality. E.g boot board bracket mounts/positioning and factory fitted cover over the magic wand hole(previously mentioned by sgierke), factory finish on remote mount hole and positioning of remote change rear mount etc etc.

But its not hard to make a Cooper S now...is it...the higher quality and knowlege of the "workman" the harder it is to spot the changes :D
