GM head stud thread sealant is both a sealant and lubricant.

Probably irrelevant for this item :? But when I fitted my new ARP head studs for 1275 I recently built, the ARP kit came with a little sachet of grease and instructions to hand tighten the studs into the block

Hand tightening Studs is the correct procedure for any stud.

When you think about it, tightening a stud into a threaded hole achieves nothing..

A stud that has been driven into its mating thread by a spanner, stud driver or the like has in fact not been tightened at all, it has been screwed into its mating thread until the threads are Jammed together. Not a Good Situation.

I leave my studs finger tight in the block. So whenever I need to get the head off I don't need to disturb the *&$#@( LCB and zorst. I just pull all the head studs then slide the head forward and up.

Set to .016" if you don't know what cam it is.
And when using feeler gauges on roller rockers stick them in sideways so you can feel if tight or not. Not in the front....

Hopefully they stretch slightly. Wouldn't be much use if they didnt.
