The passenger side spline on my wiper arm drive has striped itself and after getting another drive section from the shed I can't seem to get it fully apart.

What I want to do is slip the rusty coloured drive gear off the spline shaft so this section can be swapped out with the old one without having to dissemble the entire wiper assembly, if that makes sense. Or do I have to remove and disassemble the entire wiper system?

I think the wiper wheel boxes are factory pressed together, so yes, a full disassemble would be the order of the day.
Might pay to wait for someone else to confirm though before you subject yourself to work.

Yeah Kenno, I had to do this recently on a mates LS.

You have to pull the drive "cable" out through the tubes to get each wiper box off. It's pretty easy, just a bit messy with the grease. A good clean up / wipe with a rag and a fresh lot of grease along the cable will help too.

What type of grease should be used in the wiper cable and also in the wiper motor.

I'll probably get a caining for this, but......

I used Castrol Boating grease, it's a lithium based blue grease designed to be used where water is present & has an anti corrosion inhibitior in it!

Cheers Shane
