Just to be sure a down draught would be the variety you usually put on a v8. Su carbs are side draught.

The side/up/down.ect refers to the direction of airflow relative to a horizontal plane. If it sucks air in horizontally its a side draught. A down draught would stick through the bonnet.

There's plenty of down drafts running around on minis; ran one myself for a while. Usually robbed off old Fords.

Weber 28/36DCD downdraft or similar & filter will fit, without sticking thru the bonnet. A 48IDA, on the other hand...

Is this guy in tassie? Would love to see how it goes against my low compression n/a 1100cc.

I would be stoked with a 2" width.

The mini is in campania josh!!
But the owner is away working on the west cost.
It's currently not running because it spun the fly wheel off the crank twice and they got sick of it, pulled it apart and threw it into the back of the shed and started work on a 2L Gemini.

Oh Andrews? Yes I heard about the troubles he had. Was it a print out from a rolling road or a computer generated estimate? He should drop it in a mini 11 for the October meet and keep up with the group n minis ;)
