 Post subject: half moon seal

does anyone have a pic of where the half moon seal sits


i didnt replace in or check to see if the old one was in ( rookie mistake)

would b much appreciated

It goes on the front main bearing cap, butts onto the 2 sump gaskets.
You fit it after the front engine plate is on.
It seals between the gearbox case and engine, at the fan end.

Cannot be retrofitted if the engine is already on the box.

andrew, tilt the engine on its back or front and look down between the gearbox and timing cover. you should be able to see some of it protruding. its not a big gap to look down but there is a gap
