Hello All, My 88 Rover mini lost its indicators last week (and hazards lights). So using the "easiest first method" all other electrics work (gauges, air con, heater, rear demister, stereo etc) check all connections on standard 4 fuse block, everything connected, swapped the flasher can with a working one out of our other rover mini (still no worky), then thought, hazard light switche maybe, swapped this with working one out of other rover, still no go. Found 4 inline fuses under the bonnet, they all seem to be good too. Has anyone else in mini land had the same issue with a late 80s rover? Is there a common known issue (like the headlight hidden inline fuse on leyland square nose problem)?
Thanks

The indicator stalks have a tendancy to get dodgy around this age, but it gets its power feed from the hazard switch, so normally one works one doesn't.
Before the power gets to the switch is goes through a fuse and the flasher can.

Disconnect the switch and see if there is 12v coming in.
If its not, then its either the fuse, can, or a broken wire.

Just a thought: you didn't nick the flasher can from an injected mini to test a carby circuit did you? They're different.

Thanks for the responses guys (as always Harley, what you know about Rovers is awesome) I have power at the inline fuses, and fuse box, it seems to stop somewhere between the fuse and the flasher can plug. Will continue my hunt tomorrow when I have more daylight. Thanks again guys
Josh

Check the Haz light switch.... It controls both indicators and Had lts.

Thanks for all the responses guys, turns out the side repeater blinker shorted out and melted the wires up to the back of the dash. In the end it got the better of me so i sent it to a professional. Much cheaper than a fire caused by me not having a clue about electrics :)
