Guys

How long do you normally have to wait for your parts when ordered?

I'm here in WA and ordered some parts from a well known Mini parts supplier in December last year and still waiting... Money has been taken a long time ago and only recieved some of the parts last week..... and some of them were faulty!

Anyone else ever been treated like this? Getting a little hacked off at this which is why i'm on here now writing this!!!!!

Sorry to hear this.

I have not had any issues with any Australian suppliers. Have you tried calling them in person? I find emails can be a bit hard for some of the suppliers who still work the old school methods of business.

I'd email them to say if it hasn't been sent yet, you want a refund.

I did that once before when I ordered something only to find it wasn't in stock.
They asked if they could hold onto the money till the parts came in but I chose not too......good thing too as it took 6 months to get stock!

Wow that is a long wait were the parts you ordered custom or getting machined etc ?

and i assume youve rang tjem multiple times to see what the hold up is ?

I've only ordered my stuff from overseas so far , longest wait ive had is 10 days from ordering.

Cheers:
Bill

Sadly some parts and service places have a website, they answer their phones and faxes but never read their emails.
I have been waiting 5? years now for a price on an LCB Y piece (made in Melbourne).
Not that I need it now, the LCB is long sold.

But lately, I find local suppliers responding better to email. More than I can say for 2 well know UK suppliers....

Called and spoken to them on numerous occasions and keep getting the same excuse that its a post issue!

That they will call me back and never do and that they have reposted items... but have given them a fair amount of rope... but now i'm getting really frustrated with lies and promises that amount to nothing

Sounds like an experience I had with a store a couple years ago, I kept onto them for months (but they didnt charge me for them) kept saying it was a post issue and the courier lad forgot to pick it up, they would repost it for me, it was lost int he mail, they sent it to the wrong address.. lie after lie I eventually gave up and stopped calling them and dont by anything from them over the phone anymore and will only buy from them in person.

The parts were the sort that were in stock/aust mini specific and made local. I have been promised and promised that parts were in the post since January!

Not the service expected of this supplier.

Sometimes when you want to support local sellers, it ends up taking longer then the same (cheaper) item from merry old England...

Most of England have only just now heard of the internet. The days of internet being an important part of doing business, and responses to emails being timely are loooong in the future

I love it when people make these sort of comments....

This comment comes from a guy who messed me around on buying a car 3 times and then messed me around a hell of a lot on parts where I held parts he wanted only for him again to mess me around and back out of wanting most of it! Making me lose out on selling the stuff to others.... So I told him I wouldn't sell him anything....
