If you run it @ 2000 for 20 mins in neutral at no load you will glaze the rings up.
It's far better to just go for a drive- don't let it idle below 1000 or rev it over 3500. But do put some load on it uphill, to bed the rings in ASAP.

These rockers are NOT forged now. they are grey cast iron.
I found this when I machined the tops of minidave's so they were square with the nuts.
[edit] and no, they are not made in UK now.
But I agree with above it looks like coil bind. I use c-AEA526 springs with 1.5 rockers, standard ones don't handle the extra valve lift.

@lillee,
As for the misalignment on the exhaust valves, even Cooper S forged ones look like that if you don't fit their 4 standard spacer washers (exhaust rockers only).

However...that particular casting is not too homogeneous I can see some fairly bad casting anomalies....the fact that only one rocker let go makes me think that the dud let go whilst the others just weren't happy with coil bind

Doc,

What brand and 1.5 rockers do you use for 1275?
Do you run these rockers with upgraded shaft
Or purchase as a whole unit?

These rockers come with an upgraded shaft, but you have to assemble them.

I run the early FORGED version of these rockers on my car, they used to be good.
I was less than impressed with the set of Minispares 1.5 roller tip ones that Lillee fitted recently, 6 of the 8 adjusters were bent.

If I was buying new 1.5 rollers I'd think about these-

These rockers are unbushed, the bigger diameter shaft runs direct in the (aerospace) alloy. But so do the cams of many OHC engines, so it works.

You can also use modified early Toyota Corolla rockers, it takes a fair bit of machining though to do it properly. These give a ratio around 1.46:1.
See the hi-lift 1.5 rocker sticky thread at top of the mods forum.

What Lillee said ^^^. If you could get them locally they would be dearer.

Yes Mickmini is running a set, but his are the more expensive version on the MED site.

Lindsay Seibler sells the Titan race ones, expensive but good.

Yes the Rollmaster duplex kit is well made, however I found the multiple keyways in the crank sprocket bloody confusing (instructions notwithstanding) and chose to use an offset cam key instead.
It comes with a decent chain on it too- not the $6 rubbish that other duplex kits supply.

Probably Karcraft unless you want to bring one in from Minispares UK, for example. Might be cheaper to buy there, I've not checked lately. But postage to Oz on small items is a killer now.

[edit] I checked Minis Plus but it's not listed there.

[edit 2] £98 at Minispares = ~$150 + postage.

The other thing that happens is the valve guide grabs the valve midway thru its stroke

The valve stops the energy has to go some where when the piston hits the valve

Unfortunatly i have been there
