a few i found funny...

A motor vehicle must not be fitted with a device that can make a sound like the sound of a siren, bell, exhaust whistle, compression whistle or repeater horn.
(haha u cant have a siren or a bell fitted to your car)

A motor vehicle with 3 or more wheels that is fitted with a windscreen must be fitted with at least 1 windscreen wiper unless a driver in a normal driving position can obtain an adequate view of the road ahead of the motor vehicle without looking through the windscreen.
(haha 3 or more wheels, and i dont know how the rest could be possible really....)

A motor vehicle must be able to turn in a circle not over 25 metres in diameter, measured by the outer edge of the tyre track at ground level.
(We dont have a problem there!)

A motor vehicle with an unloaded mass over 450 kilograms must be able to be driven both backwards and forwards when the driver is in the normal driving position.
(hahah why did they choose 450 kilos)

i think if u have a motor cycle u r exempted.

that ones interesting - probably stops bike engined minis from being registered, it may be possible to get it under 450kg, but not easy

well...you could take out all the seats....then u would be getting close maybe. how many kilos would a normal mini actually be?

a van is the lightest at 620kg, they can be lightened by using lighter competition brake parts, drums, callipers etc, and swiss cheesing the subframes and other bits. AFAIK Jaan Fox from Adelaide took 150kg out of a sedan, but not sure how legal it is, aside from drilling holes in everything, he cut 2 inches out of the body and another 2 inches out of the roof pillars

Electric reverse in minis with bike motors in them. There is a 4th pedal that operates a motor which in turn allows you to back the car up. Was in a MW mag a couple of years ago

My brothers' 850 Sports sedan... 480kgs with Mini engine.

-Fibreglass Front
-Fibreglass bootlid
-Full ALLOY roll cage (as light as can be)
-No rear seat base
-No rear firewall
-No parcelshelf
-No boot floor
-No door pockets
-No front dashboard sheetmetal
-Remaining door frames all drilled (they wobble like rolf harris if you only hold the top)
-All perspex windows (except windscreen)
-Rear subframe removed (tubular independant rear suspension)
-No Tail-light backing plates (Too heavy)
-No passenger seat (Thats where the fuel tank and battery sit -and yes, they're in sealed boxes)
-Single wire electrical system
-10x6 Mambas (about the lightest wheel usable)


I don't think there is much more to be removed. Good luck getting another 30kgs out of it and still keep it registered...

And i only looked here because i thought willy had been defected. Bugger.

165. Stopping in an emergency, &c., or to comply with another rule
