Are the best quality Also for Price in 1275 Engines

I'd say you could probably have good, or you could have cheap. Rarely you can have both!

Quality & cost Hypertec. You can have both.

Russell Engineering pistons (with Nippon rings) are good too. And they sell a 72.5mm, which Hypatec do not. Gives you an extra rebore size between +.060" and 73.0mm.
Available in 72.5, 73.0, 73.5, and 74mm sizes.

[edit] it's a bit sad that everybody in Oz seems to be out of 1275 Hypatec +.040 and +.060 pistons at the moment.

I have 1 new set of Hypatec +.060", with Hastings rings, if this helps you. [edit] now sold.

I just came back from Karcraft, they now have stock of 9.75:1 1275 pistons in std, +.020",+.040", and +.060" sizes.
Brand is `County', they look practically identical to Hypatec ones.

Price is under $200/set.

wow that sounds cheap to me, I think I was paying that price 30 years ago, Any idea what brand the rings are ?

Sorry no I didn't ask, but they do stock Hastings rings. Email Karcraft and ask.
I have been told these County pistons [edit] may be Taiwanese, as are Hypatecs and Russell Eng ones.

Note: I have NOT used the County pistons, so have no 1st hand knowledge of their fitment.

To take this thread on a slight deviation from it's current path; does anyone know who or where to go for "custom" or off the shelf pistons suitable for creating a stroked engine using cooper 's' rods on a large journal crank?

Just use Hypatecs (or maybe these County ones)- if your crank is stroked 3mm, machine 1.5mm off the piston crown and redo the dish.
Both these pistons have a thick crown, and their ring pack is well down from the top (compared to Russell Eng ones) so stroking is no problem.

My dad designed some pistons specifically for stroker engines & he had JP pistons make them for us
