Multiple years ago (1970s) I had a HQ Holden Premier - the one with twin lights - one high beam one low beam. I replaced the high beam light with an aircraft landing light. 55 watt but flat smooth glass lens. Don't know the colour temp but out on the Newell Highway at night you could see for a couple of Ks

something like this

Ha ha, melts bitumen at 3 miles...

Remember the etomogah pub cartoon? I loved it! Anyway, they always had the road trains pulling in with their headlights.

I have a set of Hella H4 replacements (5604/100) with 55/100w globes in my Moke. Wired with relays they are brilliant. I don't think anyone would want more light than they provide.

Even with 55/60w globes they are much better than standard, and you don't even have to alter your wiring - but its better if you do.
